about
I wrote this song two years ago while I was sitting at my kitchen table waiting for my pasta to cook. It came out pretty quickly and I haven't altered the lyrics since, because they are all quite reflective of what I was feeling at the time.
lyrics
Lovely, you say I'm lovely but I feel lonely.
Fooled me, and then you schooled me on how a heart could grow.
Now I'm wondering, and I'm walking but I'm not feeling.
My hands are heavy, my eyes weeping, but I'm still breathing.
Oh lovely, you say I'm lovely but you won't hold me.
Will you face me? Please embrace me, for I am shaking.
It's so quiet, all I hear is cars rushing by.
And you've gone home, you've left me all alone and I'm not afraid to cry.
Green and blue was all you heard.
Me and you was all I saw.
Changing colours, we've both learnt, to sleep alone.
Lovely, you say I'm lovely so why deny me?
Your door's not closing, but it's sure not open.
Have I been locked?
You could trust me, and could love me and be afraid to fall.
I would catch you, and would hold you, your walls how quick they'd fall.
Green and blue was all you heard.
Me and you was all I saw.
Changing colours, we've both learnt.
Oh, don't go.
Please stay.
Please stay.
Please stay.
Green and blue was all you heard.
Me and you was all I saw.
Changing colours, we've both learnt.
